January Petit Vour Beauty Box

So, just before I left for school with small fry, the postman rang our doorbell.  She pipes up 'I bet that's another vegan box for Mom' 🀣 hahaha although, she was right 😁

The January Petit Vour Beauty Box arrived this morning and it did not disappoint.  What I love about Petit Vour is that the products really are stuff I'll use ... Shampoo, Conditioner, Eye Cream & Hydrating Tonique stuff (not sure of the correct term here!!)

For those of you that don't know what or who Petit Vour is, it's a monthly subscription service that delivers 4 cruelty-free, Vegan and clean beauty products to your door each month.  As mine is coming to Ireland, it costs $34.98 each month, but the majority of that is shipping.  It's $15 a month but it works out cheaper if you buy 3. 6 or 12 month subscriptions.  Each item is sample sized, but sometimes they're full sized.  Every month, there is a lovely new card, designed exclusively for Petit Vour by Paula and Waffle

And what makes this an extra special company is, you can earn point for purchases and product reviews - 25 points for every product review & 20% back in points.  I've earned $18.50 in points so might treat myself to a new eyeshadow palette from 100% Pure (featured in this box) πŸ˜‰πŸ‘

January's Box:  I don't really understand why, but there's some issue shipping nail polish from the US to Ireland (customs issue, I suppose) so each month there is a nail polish, the gorgeous people at Petit Vour give me a different sample and today, I received a full sized 100% Pure Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream (retail value of $25).  Absolutely love this brand ... it's gentle and smells amazing.  I love that there are no nasties in these products and I will 100% be purchasing my skincare routine products from them when I run out of the ones I'm using now.  I have lipgloss, moisturiser and another eye cream from 100% pure and they make the most amazing fruit dyed makeup too.  Make up dyed with fruit!!  Seriously, how Tarzan & Jane is that?! πŸ‘ΈπŸ“πŸ”΅πŸ‹

EvolVh is one of my favourite brands ... my hair is vile at the minute (I feel like a horse, both in shape & now hair length) but there's a reason for this ... I'm letting my hair grow long enough to donate to a children's cancer charity so that they can make a wig from it.  I'll post another post on this when it's happening (another few weeks, I'd say..) Anyway, so yes ... back to my love for EvolVh 😁 I absolutely adore this brand!!  I received a sample of the leave-in conditioner from a Vegan Subscription Box about a year and a half ago and I loved it sooo much that I have since bought two more bottles of the leave-in conditioner.  The moisturising one, not the volumising one.  My hair is so thick, I could do without the extra volume!!  In this month's Box, there was a sample of the Ultrashine Moisture Shampoo & Conditioner - a total value of $17, which is more than the box already.

Blissoma is another gorgeous brand that I would never have known about if it wasn't for Vegan Subscription Boxes.  It smells devine and I must say, it is hard working but very gentle on skin.  I wouldn't call my skin especially sensitive, but it is known to react adversely to certain 'unclean' products.  I'm never afraid to slather on anything that I receive from Petit Vour because I know there are no nasty chemicals in any of their products.  Love them for that πŸ™‚  This is a Tonique product (full size is $32 and I think this sample size is $4) Basically, you can spray this directly onto the skin after you've cleansed and moisturised.  Or to set your makeup ... very cool πŸ‘

Let me know if you subscribe to Petit Vour and if so, what you think of the January Beauty Box.

Introduction

When I first started contemplating transitioning to Veganism (having been Vegetarian since I was 14) I found that Vegan products were much easier to bring into my everyday life than Vegan food - long story, but I have weird food phobias!!

My make up bag contents had to be thrown out immediately because there wasn't *one* trustworthy company in there.  As I got more involved in purchasing Vegan products, I realised how vile some of these companies actually were and I won't allow them inside my front door now.

I subscribed to the Vegan Cuts Beauty Box in May 2015 and, I swear to God, I've never looked back.  It has changed my life ☺  For those of you not aware of what this is, it is a monthly subscription service.  It costs $22.95 per month, but is cheaper if you subscribe for longer than on a rolling monthly basis.  There are 4 - 7 Cruelty-Free and Vegan Beauty products included in every box.  They're mostly sample or deluxe sample sized products, but sometimes there are full sized items included.

Since I subscribed, almost 2 years ago, I have subscribed to numerous other Vegan Beauty Boxes (Petit Vour and Teri Miyahira are the ones I've stuck with) and I have accumulated quite a substantial amount of Vegan products that I want to start using to acquire more 'favourite products'.

As I use these products, I'll post some information (prices, websites, ingredients, etc) and my thoughts on them.  Maybe they might help somebody transition completely, when they see how great the products are - honestly, what's not to love about doing our bit for animal kind while using beauty products too πŸ‘

These products were certified Vegan and Cruelty-Free when I received them from the Subscription Box. Some products are dating back to May 2015 but they haven't been opened so I'm hoping they'll be ok to use ... we shall see πŸ˜‰

Since subscribing to the subscription boxes, I have received everything needed to transition to a cruelty-free and vegan lifestyle:

  • Shampoo (both dry shampoo and normal shampoo)
  • Conditioner (both normal conditioner and leave in conditioner)
  • Shower Gels, Body Washes, Body Scrubs
  • Toothpaste
  • Deodorant
  • Perfume (solid and liquid)
  • Lip Gloss, Lipstick, Lip balm
  • Eyeshadow, Eyeliner, Mascara
  • Highlighter, Blusher, Bronzer
  • Makeup Brushes
  • Moisturisers, Cleansers, Toners
  • Hair Masks, Facial Masks

The great thing about the subscription boxes is, if you like a product you are given, you can purchase the full size version on the relevant website and there are information cards with each Subscription box, so you will be shown how to use the product and all the information is on there too πŸ™‚
